Below are some screen shots of the responses I received after posting my final music video onto the social networking websites Facebook and Twitter. As those that commented would fall within my target audience, I found this extremely beneficial as it clearly told me that it appealed to them therefore fitting my sole purpose.

Audience Feedback Survey
I have created this presentation to present some of the data I received after conducting my audience feedback survey. I have also discussed the positive and negative aspects of creating these surveys and what I would do next time.

Production Log: Audience Survey
Over the christmas break I decided to create a survey which I would then post to people within my intended target audience so I could get some formal, recorded feedback on my video. I created this survey on the website 'www.surveymonkey.com'. I found this website was the best suited for my intentions as I could create a free survey asking as many or as little questions as I wanted which I was then able to post around on any social media sites etc or embed within my blog.
I had to decide what sort of questions I planned to ask within my survey, qualitive or quantitive. I choose to do a mix of both so I can get feedback from the written answers in order to develop my video even further. However, the quantitive answers such as rating the micro-features on a scale of 1-5 were also very helpful as I could see specifically one features needed improving and which were fine.
I posted my video around using the social networking site Facebook which allowed me to post both the link of the video and the survey either on individual messages or to my profile. I sent it to those within my target audience being between the ages of 15-25 and those that the music would hopefully appeal to. One problem with this was that not a lot of people I asked did listen to Kodaline and therefore it may not have appealed directly to them.
Once I had collected all of my data, Survey Monkey puts all of the data into charts and tables so I could analyse it closely. This allowed me to distinguish the different results and get an overall feel of what people thought of the video both as a whole and also for individual aspects such as camera, lighting, mise-en-scene etc.
Other problems I found with my data was a lot of people I asked were media studies students themselves so this gave me a slightly biased opinion of the video as they were potentially looking at it from a different perspective that a non-media student would have. Also, I think I should have asked more people as I got 26 responses. This would've given me an overall clearer response.

Production Log - Feedback
In todays lesson I filmed five people from my class, all of which fit within the target audience of my music video, to give me some feedback on my idea. This way I will be able to get an understanding as to whether it would appeal to them, and if not, any changes I could make that would change their views. I found doing this extremely helpful as some people also gave me ideas on possible shots and editing techniques I could use that will enhance the video to the maximum. As they fall within my target audience it also gives a good opinion from someone it is aimed at rather than someone that isn't.

Idea Audience Feedback
Basic Idea –
Audience Feedback
Kodaline –
Love Like This (Acoustic)
·
Two
people getting ready to perform- a boy and a girl
·
Set
in the 50s- exaggerated mise-en-scene, costume/hair/makeup to fit the style of
the typical 50s
·
Sepia
style effect added over the top to add a authentic, old look
·
Multiple
close ups of them e.g. close up of eyeliner
·
First
verse: Make up
·
Chorus:
Hair
·
Second
verse: Costume
·
Until
the end: The two actors performing on a stage, heavy lighting, all in slow
motion to fit in with the slow pace of the song. Also, the routine will be
based upon dancing within the 50s to ensure this time era is portrayed to the
audience
·
End
shot of an old woman watching the performance on television, colour is very
vivid now to show it’s back in 2013- she is watching herself back without her
partner linking to the lyrics.
Faye Wilding:
There seems to be a nice consistency between the song lyrics and the idea for the music video as there’s a subtle link between what’s going on in both, rather than it being obvious, which I think makes it more tasteful. The video seems well thought-out, with detail into the colour effects to create a vintage look. Overall I think the concept of this video will work and look good!

Amy Wichelow:
I like the initial ideas and think that the narrative matches the lyrics very well. The idea seems well thought out and solid. I like the old-50s style and think that it will look very effective when made into a music video. The ending is my favourite part and I think will consolidate the entire video and be a very cute finish. Well done.

Angelos Andreou:
My first impression was that your basic ideas are really good and the way the video fits in well with the slow tempo song was very well thought. I believe it is a very original and unique idea that will make your video stand out. I believe the ending of the video is a very creative ending that will touch the viewers. Very good!

Ciaran Davis:
Very creative with a great reveal at the end which will impress any audience. It should leave them smiling. The video will link very well to the lyrics of the song. The idea shouldn’t be too difficult to film as well, as long as you can get hold of decent actors with good props and costumes and replicate the 50’s look of the entire video perfectly.

Katie Norris:
I really like the idea that it is set in the 1950’s. The fact that an effect is added to emphasis this is good as well. The shots of getting ready will attract audiences as it will make us wonder what is happening and what they are preparing for which I personally like in a music video. On the whole I think this will be a very creative music video with a nice simple yet effective narrative.
