This album was born through the friendship of four guys. Fast forward fifteen years, broken hearts, drunken nights and hungover mornings and ‘Wish you were there’ was created. Sitting around a campfire at Reading Festival 2009, cider in one hand, guitar in the other and magic was made. They sat and sung every night getting the whole of yellow camp involved, of course. The sun set and their silohettes and sounds created an atmopshere like no other. With love being the inspiration, mainly heart-wrenching breakups, it is pure beauty. An album was a long, far-fetched thought for the foursome as they stood in the muddy fields looking up to the Kings of Leon. The sung along, voices ready for the industry and that was the moment. The story behind the voice, the passion of the guitar and the soul of the harmonica are what bring the album together. There’s nothing more mesmorising than the deep, truely touching irish voice working collaboratively with the captivating music to create only the perfect album.
428914 miles, 55 cities, 43 encores, 260 full fat greasy service station breakfasts and uncountable cups of tea later and they’ve made it. Performing their tour every night like they never imagined.
So, here’s to the next five years.
